Here at BoardFree we're delighted to be linked to a bunch of talented longboarders, all who enjoy rolling off into the distance in support of worthwhile causes. So, without further ado, meet the team: |
|
Dave founded BoardFree in the summer of 2005. Throughout May 2006 Dave pushed from John O' Groats to Lands End, becoming the first person to skate the length of Britain. Between August 2006 and January 2007 Dave pushed his rollsrolls longboard across Australia, from Perth to Brisbane. This 5823km skate earned him a place in the Guinness Book of Records. Dave still runs BoardFree, as well as running The Little Book Creative Company and marketing for rollsrolls longboards. |

In September 2006 Laura rode her rollsrolls longboard Kimba 25 miles between Glasgow and Loch Lomond, just months after taking up the sport. Her ride raised over £500 for The Lowe Syndrome Trust and place on the BoardFree Australia support team, where her invaluable contribution helped raise almost £20,000 for the BoardFree charities. Laura can currently be found skating any one of her numerous boards around the mean streets of Plymouth. She also runs www.happyskater.org |

Keith is a 35 year old married father of two from Reading and has been skateboarding for 21 years. He thought it would be ‘a bit of a giggle’ to support the NSPCC by leaving his car at home and skating to the Goodwood Roller Marathon. He enjoys travelling long distances and promoting all forms of sustainable transport. When not teaching his kids how to longboard, Keith is a Trade Compliance geek for a computer networking company. |

In Summer '07 Matt Ishler pushed his rollsrolls the entire length of the United States' West Coast, from British Columbia to Baja, California. His BC to BC journey was a first-time achievement, took almost two months to complete, and saw Matt skate almost 2000 miles on the way. |
|
In summer 2007 Rob and Jack skated across Wales from Newport to St Davids, raising over £1000 for Water Aid during the week-long skate.

Hailing from Friolzheim near Stuttgart, Simon is 22 and has been longboarding for 2 years. He hopes to skate across his home country in the summer of 2008 as the sole skater for BoardFree Germany. |
|
In the summer of 2007 Sam 'Bam' Benson skated east from Barnstable in Devon and headed towards the European mainland. He flourished his brand new passport for the first time as he skated off the cross-Channel ferry at Calais, and continued his skate through France and Spain, ending in Barcelona in September 2007.
He skated over 700 miles and raised over £3000 for the BoardFree charities. |
|
In August 2008 Ben will join Keith O'Leary and Dave Cornthwaite in skating over 175 miles in two days on a ride named BoardFree Goodwood, from Reading to Goodwood and back, attempting to break the sub two hour mark for the skated marathon during the Goodwood Roller Marathon halfway through the ride. |
