There's a lot of stigma attached to charity work, and the whole realm of 'journeys for charity' has become rather clichéd in recent times. But we don't care about that. BoardFree was established in pursuit of certain goals; freedom, challenge, an expansion of boundaries, but slowly, as Dave Cornthwaite's early journeys across the UK and Australia made ground, charity played a bigger and bigger part.

Sat alongside our belief that we are all capable of achieving the extraordinary, is the realisation that sometimes life itself is a challenge. For those who fit into this category, we will continue to push for change. BoardFree supports journeys that are undertaken based on a passion to make a difference. When the road is long and the legs are tired, it is other people that keep you going. This is our philosophy, we will never forget it.

Donations towards BFUK and BFOZ have now stopped, but with over six new journeys happening in 2007 there are plenty of opportunities to keep the donations coming. Online donations to ongoing BoardFree projects can be made on the personal websites of other Boardfree skaters embarking on their own journeys for charity in the summer of 2007.
