When Ben's friend Sophie had a stroke at the age of 15 her recovery was helped by CORDA. It seemed right that they should be the beneficiaries of the BoardFree BornFree journey.
Corda's funding of research has substantially improved the understanding of the way that cardiovascular disease, heart attacks and strokes develop.
CORDA funded the world's first cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) scanner at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. This allowed the hospital to develop a new branch of medicine CMR - and pioneer major advances in the understanding of heart disease. CMR is now used worldwide and the Royal Brompton unit, supported by CORDA, is recognised as one of the major centres in the world.
Please donate to CORDA efforts on behalf of Ben's own efforts, by visiting Ben's sponsorship page.
